WHY YOU ARE NEEDED

Your support helps SCTPN to continue its mission and increase its capacity to raise the public profile of SCD. SCTPN makes an effort to demonstrate to people living with sickle cell, thalassemia and other inherited blood disorders that they can live full, productive lives.

MISSION

SCTPN is committed to improving the quality of life for children and adults diagnosed with inherited blood disorders and their families to reduce the negative emotional, mental, social, educational, and economic impact of these chronic conditions.

ADVOCACY & SUPPORT

Our advocates and certified Community Health Workers (CHW), Public Outreach and Educational Services (POES) at schools, places of worship and business. Direct family support includes non-medical Care Coordination, social support and referrals to needed services.

SCTPN makes an effort to demonstrate to people living with sickle cell, thalassemia and other inherited blood disorders that they can live full, healthy, and productive lives.

Become a Executive Director

SCTPN is now seeing candidate to fill vacancies on its Board of Directors. Donnette Carroll, Co-Founder and President, and Geoffrey Stephen, Vice President are both retiring. New leaders are needed to succeed as directors to deliver the deliver the organization’s mission objectives.

THE BOARD OF ADVISORS

Support SCTPN’s mission as a member of the Advisory Board.  The board meets 4 to 6 times annually to support the sustainable growth of the organization’s programs and services, and to plan activities.

LEADING SUSTAINABILITY & GROWTH

SCTPN is celebrating its 32nd year in service to the sickle cell communities of New York State and abroad. As long as there are children being born into a life a pain and debility, the organization must continue to exist.  SCTPN is expanding its capacity to serve affected families and our medical professional partners throughout New York State.

As a member of the Board of Advisors, you will participate in developing and implementing strategies to achieve mission objectives and goals.  You will be on the front line of building public awareness of sickle cell disease and SCTPN’s brand. The work of the advisory board is organized through the following Committees:
