Donnette Carroll, Co-Founder & President

2020 was a challenging year indeed; one where stumbling blocks were turned into stepping stones. One where our true character was brought to the fore, and our tenacity was put to the test. We have lost many family and friends, much pain was experienced, and hope seemed lost. In spite of this, with great fortitude we forged ahead as they would have expected us to do. 2020 has taught us a valuable lesson to never take anything for granted, and with this in mind, I am deeply grateful to all of you for the persistence you demonstrated in staying the course.

To the office staff – thank you for never giving up when the going got tough, for keeping the lights of hope burning brightly, even when it was hard to do.

To the Community Health Workers – thank you for finding new ways to keep our clients engaged, and to show them that you care.

To our Volunteers – many hands made light work – thank you for finding new ways to meet with the community keeping them in touch with vital resources.

To our Donors – thank you for your generosity and unwavering support. Your support made it possible for us to continue to be a resource for individuals and families, as we used our virtual platform to bring the community together by providing emotional support, vital information and comfort to one another.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for making 2020 the success it became in spite of the relentless pandemic. As writer Ana Jacob says “ The wings of hope carry us, soaring high above the driving winds of life.”  May we continue to soar in 2021.

Sincerely,

Donnette Carroll, President
